1.Select a film that is under two hours and is available on Netflix or Amazon.
Provide the title of the film. The title should be linked to its IMDB page. The Terminal (2004) Steven Spielberg, Tom Hanks, 128minutes http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0362227/?ref_=nv_sr_1 2.Write a summary of the film. Victor Novarski (Tom Hanks), a man who came from Eastern European country Krakozhiaa, came to JFK. However, while he was in the plane, his government is collapsed so, including his visa and all documents became invalid. Therefore, he stuck in the airport. He had to learn English since he had to survive, and he faced several problems such as food, shelter, and clothes in the airport. Since, it is based on one Iranian guys’ real story whose name is Mehran Nasseri, this movie has more reality compared to other movies, and related to Syrian refugee problem, it is good movie to have a discussion about. 3.Provide possible writing topics for assignment #3. We can think about several topics like ‘what is the meaning of mother country to us’, ‘what if I become a diplomatic refugee like ‘Victor’ due to the collapse of my country's government?’, ‘sense of difference that we feel when we are in other countries’, ‘how do we have to consider about diplomatic refugees such as Syrian refugees or North Korean refugees who chose flee because of political issues of their countries.'

This film and your suggested writing topics intrigue me. I think it could be powerful for us to define "mother country" or write about being a refugee (especially because most Americans couldn't possibly understand what that feels like so to "put yourself in those shoes" could be a transformative writing experience).
